ABOUT THE READING RUGBY FOUNDATION​​​​
The Trustees of Reading Rugby Foundation have all, in their different ways, had their life enhanced by involvement in rugby union. For some it has been the physical activity and competitive challenges, for others the involvement in a community enterprise. For all, though, rugby’s principles of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship are the unifying theme.​​​​​​
Recognising the potential for rugby to be a force for good in the community, the Trustees created Reading Rugby Foundation. The aims are to support the development of the sport and particularly to expand its reach beyond the traditional participant groups, to encompass all sections of society.

Michael Huggan
Chairman
Mike has spent much of his career in Senior Management positions with International Blue Chip technology companies. Though he is new to the Charities Sector, Mike is well prepared for the Leadership, Governance and Strategic Direction of the Charity. Following a long and unremarkable rugby career he has always enjoyed the camaraderie of the sport and understands the physical and wellbeing benefits of the sport.
Rudi Eagling
Treasurer

Rudi is an experiened chartered accountant who has supported a wide range of global companies, along with not-for-profit organisations based in the UK.​​​​​​
His lifelong passion for sport started with tennis and football, before more recently joining the rugby community. Team sports and local clubs can provide many life skills and Rudi is very keen to open these opportunities up to others where possible.
Christopher Lewis
Trustee

Chris has worked in Financial services for the last 25 years, managing and delivering change within Global Markets and IT programmes. His passion has always been sport, predominantly on the hockey pitch, but over the last 10 years he has been heavily involved in junior rugby.
He sees every day the values that sport brings in both the work and social context, and is very keen to ensure that sport is accessible to everyone.
Stuart Spindler
Trustee

Stuart spent much of his career in executive search, recruiting directors and senior managers for commercial and industrial clients across the UK. The last twenty years were as Founder and Chief Executive of his own search firm. His lifelong involvement in rugby means that he is passionate about the sport and the benefits, both physical and social, that it provides.
Martin Eves
Trustee

Martin has spent his career in IT, primarily Infrastructure and software and over the past two decades has held sales leadership positions at a UK, EMEA and Global level. He has experience and a passion for Diversity and Inclusion and is keen to bring opportunities and benefits to local communities and individuals. Martin has maintained his connection with Rugby primarily as a spectator.​
